Dead Name

  1. A word of power to gain control of a lich.

  2. an incorrect name provided to a person before their real name is discovered.

  3. An incorrect name given to a lich before their real word of power is discovered.

Dread Lord K

An infamous evil figure who took over a castle town and has been at a simmering war with the neighboring cities ever since. Apparently is this world’s version of Karn, known as Karnage.

Adventure

A story involving characters going and doing very interesting things that aren’t just talkin’. Example: killing a dragon, defeating an evil overlord, or, I guess, just going to the store in the whole.. thing, going on.

Calendar

The months of the Planet calendar are: Messanguary, Imposarch, Invispril, Endune, Termay, Judgune, Judgly, Maxagust, Infember, Fred, Manufember, and December.

Code Excerpts

Remnants of a mysterious material that Eternal Weapons are made of. Seems to be your medallions or relics or elemental doodads you have to collect this time around.

Companion

An actual combat-capable party member. You do not control them directly, but they will participate in combat automatically. You can have up to two Companions at once.

Dramatis Personae Card

Collectable cards of varying rarity depicting important (and less than important) elements and characters in the narrative.

Eternal

A race of, frankly overly dramatic super-beings from beyond time and space. They have infinite power and toughness, and can only be defeated using various Eternal Weapons to overpower or strip their defenses. One Eternal, known as Eternion, is notable for being a real knob.

Eternal Weapon

Tools and weapons devised by the Eternals, originally used in their war against Eternion and his forces. Examples include Mugendai-Yaiba: The “Infinity Blade”, which in the hands of an Eternal has even more infinite power (don’t worry about it), Kyuukyoku-Yaiba: the “Terminal Blade” which removes an Eternal’s infinite defense as it cuts, the Melody of Finite: a song which strips an Eternal of their powers, and the Sealing Amulet: fashionable neckwear which also binds an Eternal to a finite plane of existence.

Follower

A character that is allied with You, travels with You, takes part in cutscenes and other story beats, but does not participate in combat or take either Companion slot.

Gilly

From context you may assume it is some sort of world or local currency, but it’s actually a brand of mobile telephone. 4000 is the model number.

Groundia

The repurposed ruins of Skyria

Kildracks

An ancient society which worshiped the Eternals. The ruins of which held a Crystal used by the Eternals to grant finite beings with masks that provided them near-infinite powers, allowing them to act as subjects of Eternals directly in infinite business.

King of Doomdia

It is said the King lives on the very top of the tower and gives orders through a series of pneumatic tubes. It is also said that they live among the people as a commoner, secretly providing orders through a series of coded handshakes. A lot of things are said.

Lokar

A city-state of magic and wonder that existed pre-post-apocalypse. Notably, the mage Ardam was born and raised here, and attended and eventually was a professor at the Academy. Known for their side-swept one-eyed hairstyle.

Main Character

If you haven’t noticed yet, this universe is inside of a story-driven video game and therefore has a main character. But wait, aren’t you the main character..?

Messenger, Church of the

The previously huge religion worshipping the Messenger, who turned out to be the Eternal known as Infinel.

New New Doomdia

Doomdia was a town encountered by Karn and his friends that was, surprisingly, doomed. It was destroyed by a monster attack. They then helped rebuild as New Doomdia, but that was again destroyed along with everything else prior to the current adventure. It was then, again, rebuilt as New New Doomdia and I’m sure nothing bad will happen to it.

She Who Pierces The Sands

A legendary raider known for her impossible actions and her trademark spear-only melee style. Not to be confused with They Who Pierce The Sands, a drilling company. An alias of Protagonist.

Skill Tier

A character can spend collected Venerated, Anodyne or Profane points to unlock new tiers on the perk skill trees, and then spend skill points to unlock individual skills on those trees. It’s a needlessly complex system made even more complex by some skills having cross-perk prerequisites, and some even having cross-alignment prerequisites, but those skills are seldom worth the effort it takes to unlock except in some very rare builds.

Stage

A single stage built in the middle of the Void Between, where your gracious host tells the tale from.

Summon Realm

Powerful beings can bind themselves to the Summon Realm, so that instead of dying they enter a state of psudoexistance in a plane where summoners can request their temporary assistance in the primary plane. For more information see “Relationship between Matter, Energy and Mana with regards to the Summon Realm’s psudoexistential physics, Ardam et al, AK 0008, Lokar Magistic Press”

Temple Guardian

A Boss Fight acting as the final challenge to complete a Temple. This includes both dungeon temples and actual religious temples.

Time Between The Post Apocalypse And The Pre-Post Apocalypse / Great Wastelandification

A mysterious time before the current after-the-apocalypse but after the time before-the-apocalypse. It’s still not clear exactly what happened to leave the world in this state, but there are theories.

Venerated / Anodyne / Profane

Choices made that are either unwaveringly helpful or exceptionally cruel may provide points to the Venerated and Profane meters, while avoiding those choices would fill Anodyne. The points allow characters to unlock tiers in skill trees granted by perks. For example, a Venerated max tier Natural Narrator could force a happy ending to a narrative, but a max tier Profane Natural Narrator could turn the story particularly dark and gruesome. Of course, a really good narrator should be Anodyne.

Venomic Dragon King

The Monarch of the Venomic Dragon horde. The death of the ex-current king, King Doomtooth the 3rd, has left a power vacuum amongst the various clans. The story of which will be (not) told in a bestselling fantasy-political novel series, Game of Piles Of Gold In Caves

Void Between

A mysterious location that may be nowhere, or may be everywhere? In any case it seems to be a big white nothing.

Voided

Broken world object pointers to uninitialized memory.

Void Scar

Locations of incomplete world geometry.

Wastesand

It’s wasteland sand. Did You Know!? Wastesand is over 75% made of background pixels.
